North Charleston police investigate gas station robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a North Charleston gas station Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the incident at the Exxon in the 5700 block of Dorchester Road shortly after 1 p.m., police spokesman Harve Jacobs said.

Investigators say the robber pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cartons of cigarettes and cash from the register. The robber left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise, Jacobs said.

No one was injured in the incident and no arrests were made, he said.
