According to court documents, Xavien Howard is accused of sending sexually explicit photos to minors

A court filing alleges that former Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard sent a sexually explicit photograph of a woman to her underage son “with goals of manipulation and/or revenge.”

The motion, filed Thursday in Broward District Court in Florida, seeks to include the boy in a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims in a separate incident that Howard recorded sex videos of the two without her consent and distributed them to third parties.

According to court documents, Howard had sexual relations with the boy’s mother. After the boy’s mother became pregnant, Howard demanded that she have an abortion, the lawsuit says. When she refused, Howard texted the boy a sexually explicit photo of the two of them in September 2022, the filing says.

The boy, referred to in the filing as “John Doe,” was a minor when he received the photo but is now an adult, according to the lawsuit. His mother deleted the photo from his phone, but he accessed it through his iCloud account, according to the lawsuit.

The new allegation follows a lawsuit filed on May 23, 2023, by a woman who is called “Jane Doe,” according to court documents. Thursday’s motion asks that the boy be included in the lawsuit because his allegations “evidence a similar pattern of behavior.” The woman who filed the original lawsuit and the boy are not related, according to court documents.

“Mr. Howard denies the allegations and hopes to prevail in court,” GrayRobinson’s attorney Ted Craig said on Howard’s behalf.

Howard and the woman (Jane Doe) began a sexual relationship in 2022, which ended in July 2022, according to the complaint. On or around September 25, 2022, the woman allegedly received sexually explicit videos from another woman via Instagram that showed her having sexual intercourse with Howard, according to the complaint.

The woman’s lawyers filed a cease-and-desist letter with Howard in October 2022. In April 2023, after the cease-and-desist letter was sent, the woman received “sexually explicit photographs and videos of nude women” from a woman that Howard had recently sent her, according to the lawsuit. Jane Doe was seen in one of the photos, which was taken and distributed without “her knowledge or consent,” according to the lawsuit.

Both Jane Doe and John Doe are seeking over $50,000 in damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress. In addition, Jane Doe is suing Howard for invasion of privacy and sexual harassment and has sought a restraining order to ensure that Howard does not distribute any more videos or photos taken without her consent.

Howard, 30, was selected in the second round by the Dolphins in 2016. He spent eight seasons with the Dolphins before the team released Howard in March. He is currently a free agent. Howard, a four-time Pro Bowl participant, had 45 tackles and one interception in 2023.
