An opportunity presents itself: St. Jude Center

The Diocese of Buffalo is in the process of selling the St. Jude Center, located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (752-760 Ellicott Street). The property consists of an 8,755 SF building with a residence hall, chapel and lobby. The adjoining carriage house currently serves as a chapel, although the St. Jude Shrine (located at the center since 2020) will be relocated to St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Buffalo, according to the property listing.

Other diocesan properties that are currently for sale include Catholic Center, Christ the King Seminary, and the Buffalo State University Newman Center, as noted by WNY Catholic. 

According to Catholic WNY, the original structure was built in 1856 as the Victoria Hotel and a two-story addition was added in 1968. The residence continues to feature original amenities, including five marble fireplaces and large pocket doors.
