A Neshoba County man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for burglary and sexual assault on the Choctaw Indian Reservation.

According to court documents, 26-year-old Scottie Amos entered a tribal home and sexually assaulted a female tribal member on September 14, 2017. Nearly two months later, Amos broke into another tribal home on November 2, 2017.

Amos, a Tucker native, was charged with both incidents and pleaded guilty on Jan. 8, 2024. He was sentenced Thursday to 168 months in a federal prison.

The Choctaw Police Department and the FBI investigated the case with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Brian K. Burns as prosecutors.
