Woman killed in car crash in Morrow County

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A woman was killed and another driver was injured in a crash in Morrow County Thursday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on State Route 19 near County Road 8 in North Bloomfield Township.

OSHP reports that 58-year-old Julie Switzer of Galion was traveling eastbound on County Road 8 in a Buick LeSabre and failed to yield at a stop sign. She entered the intersection and her vehicle was struck by a Jeep Wrangler.

Both vehicles left the road after the impact.

Switzer succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

According to OSHP, alcohol is suspected to be the cause of the accident.
