Man arrested by police for raping his own daughter in Dungarpur

Dungarpur, 07.06.24: District police arrested a man in Dungarpur district on Friday for raping his own 19-year-old daughter.

The incident took place in Bichhiwara police station area on Thursday when the victim, her younger sister and father were alone in the house. The accused father grabbed the victim, took her to one of the rooms of the house and stripped her naked. The victim’s younger sister initially tried to intervene but later when she failed to do so, she rushed to her aunt’s house and called her mother and neighbours for help. Her mother came into the house and tried to stop her husband. Later, she took a stick from the house and hit him on the head. Somehow she managed to save her daughter and locked her husband in the room.

The victim’s mother later called the police and handed over the accused to them. The victim along with her mother and the area sarpanch went to the police and filed a complaint against her father for rape.

The station house officer of Bichhiwara police station said, “The accused has been arrested and booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 376. The medical examination of the accused has been conducted and the accused is being further interrogated by the police.”
