Marshall County officials respond to fatal crash | News, Sports, Jobs



According to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, an unidentified man died in a rollover accident southwest of Albion Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 mile of 190th Street for a report of a single-vehicle crash with unknown occupants. When they arrived, an unconscious man was found in the roadway several feet from the vehicle.

It was determined that there were no other occupants in or near the vehicle involved in the accident prior to it being fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident and is currently not being released until family members have been notified.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Ambulance, the Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Albion Fire Department and First Responders, the Liscomb Fire Department and the Clemons Fire Department.
