Man dies in motorcycle accident in Jackson County

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Jackson County Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred at 4:01 p.m. in the area of ​​E. Michigan Avenue and Mills Street in Leoni Township. The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety said the victim, the driver of the motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on E. Michigan Avenue when he lost control and fell from the motorcycle. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but struck his head on the road.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man near the motorcycle. The victim was then taken to Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim’s name and age have not yet been released.

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety said that according to witnesses at the scene, the victim appeared to be driving at or below the speed limit at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.
