Red Dead Redemption fans have a “depressing” idea of Arthur Morgan’s return in the upcoming release

Red Dead Redemption fans have a

Someone always has to spoil the fun

By a bizarre turn of events, Arthur Morgan will be our next history teacher thanks to this upcoming release, and I for one am kind of ready for it.

Already in 2021 it was reported that a history professor in America had sought the help of Red Dead Redemption 2 to help him with his college curriculum. For Professor Tore Olsson, it was a way to combine his love of history and video games in his teaching.

He acknowledged that while the narrative in historical video games is “often historically inaccurate,” it still paves the way for discussion about colonialism, racism and other important issues.

Because this course was the first of its kind, it soon made headlines around the world, and today, three years later, Olsson shares an update on r/reddeadredemption.

“Hey Redditors – so I’m the American history professor who taught the world’s first college course on the Red Dead Redemption games. I’ve now written a book about that course called The story of Red Deadis aimed at fans of the game,” he wrote.

While that is exciting in itself, Olsson had another exciting announcement to make.

“But today I have big news. Really big news,” he added. “THE AUDIOBOOK VERSION OF RED DEAD’S HISTORY PLAYED BY ROGER CLARK (ARTHUR MORGAN in RDRII).”

So there you have it: readers who pick up this upcoming release will hear narrated by none other than Arthur Morgan himself. Suddenly I’m very interested in American history.

However, one comment quickly spoiled the party mood: He suggested a depressing idea for the audio book.

“Here’s a depressing idea: Roger starts coughing in the early parts of the book and it gradually gets worse until, in the final chapters, he behaves as if he has late-stage tuberculosis,” they wrote.

This would be a heartbreaking accompaniment, mimicking Arthur’s own tuberculosis diagnosis, but of course this is just a fan’s suggestion.
