Investigators need help identifying a suspect accused of luring and raping a 19-year-old in Tacoma

The man is said to be between 55 and 65 years old. He is accused of luring the victim into the woods near the Kings Manor senior living complex on May 17.

TACOMA, Wash. – Detectives with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a man accused of luring and raping a 19-year-old woman in Tacoma.

According to PCSD, the assault occurred at 11:30 a.m. on May 17 near the Kings Manor senior living community on Portland Avenue East. The suspect allegedly lured the victim into nearby woods after telling her he needed help with an injured cat. He then allegedly beat, knocked down and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect then fled and the victim went back to the facility where she worked to call for help.

The man is wanted for second-degree rape.

According to PCSD, the suspect is between 55 and 65 years old, over 6 feet tall and weighs more than 300 pounds. He was also wearing a neck warmer at the time of the attack. Below is a sketch of the suspect:
