34-year-old man killed in rollover crash on I-10 in Thousand Palms

A Coachella-area man was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle in a rollover crash on Interstate 10 in Thousand Palms.

The accident was reported around 10:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-10 between Cook Street and Monterey Avenue.

The driver, identified as Jose Manuel Rodriguez, 34, of Coachella, was traveling in a Ford Expedition that rolled several times before coming to rest on its side, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said Rodriguez was not wearing a seatbelt. He was the only person in the SUV.
