Five people arrested after chase involving stolen car and accident near Lake Express Ferry parking lot

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, five people were arrested following a chase involving a stolen car that crashed near the Lake Express Ferry parking lot in Milwaukee. The sheriff’s office said the Saint Francis Police Department began the pursuit with assistance from the Cudahy Police Department. The sheriff’s office said it was notified of the car’s theft and the chase around 6:20 p.m. The stolen car entered the freeway at Penn Avenue and exited at Carferry Drive, where it crashed shortly thereafter. Several people fled on foot from the stolen car in the Lake Ferry Express parking lot. Four people were arrested by a Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office canine unit. A fifth person was later also arrested. The Milwaukee Fire Department said they treated one of the five people arrested who had been bitten by the dog. They also treated a person who jumped into the water. The sheriff’s office said they are still looking for a sixth person.
