14-year-old dies when tree falls on car in Orange County

A 14-year-old girl was killed Thursday when a tree fell on the roof of a vehicle she was in, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP, the car was traveling southbound on Ream Road south of Summerlake Boulevard in Orange County. During the crash, police say a tree fell on the roof of the car. The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to FHP. A 40-year-old driver and a 12-year-old passenger were also in the vehicle at the time of the incident but did not sustain any injuries. The incident has closed northbound and southbound lanes of Reams Road. The incident remains under investigation.
