Reynhard Sinaga, Britain’s ‘most prolific rapist’, is sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping 136 men – News

A student from Indonesia was identified as Britain’s most notorious rapist on Monday after being convicted of more than 150 crimes, including 136 rapes.

In four separate trials, 36-year-old Reynhard Sinaga was found guilty of attacking 48 men after drugging them after bringing them to his home from bars and clubs in the city of Manchester.

Many of the victims were lured with the offer of a place to sleep or more to drink, and Sinaga filmed the attacks with his mobile phone, the prosecutor’s office said.

A judge at a Manchester court ruled that Sinaga must serve a minimum prison sentence of 30 years for 159 crimes he committed between January 2015 and May 2017 and lifted reporting restrictions.

Ian Rushton, a prosecutor, described Sinaga as “the most prolific rapist in British legal history”.

Sinaga, who has lived in Britain since 2007, targeted young men who looked drunk or vulnerable and rendered them unconscious with a sedative, probably the party drug gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, known as GHB, the court was told.

The victims had little or no memory of the attacks, but Sinaga was arrested after one of his victims woke up during an attack, fought him off and went to the police with one of his phones.

Police discovered images of sexual assault on Sinaga’s digital devices – equivalent to the value of 250 DVDs or 300,000 photographs.

The court was told that Sinaga kept men’s belongings like trophies and searched for them on Facebook.

The rape investigation is the largest in British legal history and is the first time that prosecutors have split the charges into four separate trials.

The police believe there could be many more victims and are asking anyone else who may have been the victim of an attack to come forward.
