Petaluma man arrested for drunk driving after accident

(KRON) — A Petaluma man was arrested Tuesday night after crashing his car into two parked cars. Juan Rincon, 26, was arrested for driving under the influence after attempting to flee into a nearby apartment, Petaluma police said.

The suspect was involved in a two-car crash in the 200 block of Lakeville Circle around 9:30 p.m. Rincon was found in the apartment.

According to police, Rincon appeared to be drunk. A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.149 per mille. That is almost twice the legal limit of 0.08 per mille.

Rincon was arrested for driving under the influence and hit and run.

According to police, drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol often face a fine of between $13,000 and $20,000.
