Man describes moments he was attacked in the drive-thru lane while waiting for chicken

Michael Gee just wanted some chicken after work. But he never imagined this would be the moment he would be fighting for his life. “She came to the window, I’m sitting here. Bang. Bang. Bang,” Michael Gee, who said he was attacked at Hook Fish and Chicken, told WPBF 25 News. Gee was waiting in the drive-thru lane of the restaurant on Australian Avenue in Mangonia Park on Monday. At Hook Fish and Chicken, you pay at a window and pull into the parking lot to wait for your food. Gee said as he waited to pay, he saw the car in front of him didn’t move for a while. “She was sitting there for maybe 5 minutes. And I just asked her to come closer, it seemed like forever. Like, let me come closer and pay. And yeah, that really fueled the fire,” he said. Gee then described seeing a woman get out of her car with something in her hand. “She ran to the driver’s door and started hitting me through the window with a hammer,” he said. He then called 911. “I still couldn’t move because she was in front of me. I couldn’t even get out of line. The girl was sitting there waiting for her chicken to come out and then moved,” he said. Investigators eventually arrested the woman and identified her as 23-year-old Kaesha Bell. Gee said his window was rolled down while he waited at the drive-thru lane to pay when the woman continued to curse and yell racial slurs at him. He grabbed his phone to record what was going on. “She went crazy, she ruined my phone, she hit the car, she hit my hands,” Gee said. His phone was smashed by the hammer blow, and he wonders what would have happened if his phone wasn’t there. “It sent an SOS to every emergency contact telling me I was in an accident. I didn’t know phones could do that, I guess because of the impact,” he said. Bell faces several charges, including burglary with assault, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property. “It could have been a gun, you know? If there was a gun, I would have been dead,” he said. The judge had not set bail for Bell on the burglary with assault charge. She is due back in court on July 5. “It was all ridiculous. We’re waiting for chicken there, nobody needs to argue about it. It’s not a life-or-death situation,” Gee said.

All Michael Gee wanted after work was a piece of chicken.

But he never thought that this would be the moment when he would have to arm himself for his life.

“She came to the window. I’m sitting here. Bang. Bang. Bang,” Michael Gee, who said he was attacked at Hook Fish and Chicken, told WPBF 25 News.

Gee waited in the drive-thru lane at the restaurant on Australian Avenue in Mangonia Park on Monday. At Hook Fish and Chicken, you pay at a single window and drive into the parking lot to wait for your food.

Gee said as he waited to pay, he noticed the car in front of him didn’t move for a while.

She sat there for maybe five minutes. And I just asked her to come closer, it felt like forever. Like, ‘Let me come closer and let me pay.’ And yeah, that really lit the fire there,” he said.

Gee then described seeing a woman getting out of her car with something in her hand.

“Ran to the driver’s door and started hitting me with a hammer through the window,” he said.

Then he called 911.

“I still couldn’t move because she was in front of me. I couldn’t even get out of line. The girl sat there waiting for her chicken to come out and then moved,” he said.

Bell faces several charges, including burglary with bodily harm, aggravated assault and criminal damage.
