2 dead in accident in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A crash Tuesday night in Wellford left two people dead.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said the two-vehicle crash occurred around midnight near the Upward Star Center on Warren H. Abernathy Highway.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where they later died.

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 67-year-old Debra Heanu of Spartanburg.

Details about what may have caused the crash have not been released at this time.

The accident remains under investigation by the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and the Wellford Police Department.
