13-year-old girl raped by six people, including four minors

Six people, including four minors, are accused by the police of raping a 13-year-old girl in the Jashpur region of Chhattisgarh. They have now been arrested.

As the girl and her friend were returning to their village after a wedding on Tuesday evening, she was stopped by three accused – a 24-year-old man and two known minors.

According to officials, the three raped the minor after sending her companion away and taking her to a nearby forest. Three other people, one of them 21 years old, later arrived at the scene and sexually abused her.

Early on Wednesday morning, the child came home and told her father what had happened. Her father went to the police on Thursday and they filed a complaint of gang rape and also invoked the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

What did the Chhattisgarh SP say?

Jashpur police superintendent Shashi Mohan Singh said: “After receiving the complaint, we formed three teams and nabbed all the accused before they could escape.” “The four minors, aged between 16 and 17, were arrested; the adults were arrested.”
