Scottsdale personal trainer charged with raping woman after being acquitted of similar crime

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — The Scottsdale personal trainer who was briefly on the ASU football team has been arrested again for raping a woman at a Paradise Valley house party after being acquitted of a similar crime four years ago.

Tevin Terrell Favor, 32, was arrested in the area of 59th Street and Camelback Road.

According to court documents, on April 21, Favor invited a 20-year-old woman to a party at the home in the area between 36th Street and Camelback Road, which he said belonged to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The victim took an Uber to the party with a friend.

She told investigators that Favor gave her tequila even though she was underage and told her to lie to party guests about her age, police said.

The woman said she was drunk and Favor kept grabbing her butt even as she kept moving away from him, investigators said.

She reportedly told Favor’s girlfriend, who was also at the party, and went home crying.

Favor took the victim into a bedroom, touched her butt and kissed her despite her telling him to stop, court documents say.

Police said the victim’s memory was a bit blurry, and the next thing she remembered was waking up and finding Favor on top of her, raping her.

A friend of the victim found her in the room after the attack and claimed that Favor did not let her go, court documents say.

The friend sneaked past him, pulled the victim out of the room and the two took an Uber home.

Court documents say that hours after the attack, Favor sent her a text message in which he admitted to having sex with her, profusely apologized, asked her if she hated him and told her not to tell anyone.

At the hospital, a rape test was performed on the victim, which revealed several minor injuries.

According to police, three days after the party, he sent a message to all of his customers except the victim that the gym was closing and he also deleted his social media presence.

He was finally taken into custody on Wednesday after leaving his girlfriend’s apartment complex, police said.

Favor was jailed for sexual assault and false imprisonment. His bail was set at $150,000.

According to police, there is already a history of sexual assault against him.

In 2016, a woman claimed she passed out after leaving a club and woke up to Favor raping her in Paradise Valley and recording it on his cellphone, court documents said.

However, after speaking with Favor, she refused to cooperate with the police.

In September 2018, he was arrested and charged after being accused of raping a woman in her Scottsdale apartment. A jury later found him not guilty in 2020.

A few days after the arrest, a woman claimed Favor pinched her nipples and manipulated her into performing oral sex at a fast-food drive-thru, court documents say. She did not want to press charges, only to give a statement.

A few months later, a woman accused Favor of raping her “sometime in 2017” and then again in November 2018 in his apartment, court documents say. She didn’t tell anyone until she saw the arrest on the news in September.

He was not arrested on this charge.

ASU said Favor was on the preseason football team as a walk-on in 2012 but never played.
