Man dies in work accident in Batson



Hardin County Sheriff’s Office investigators and Hardin County Police Detective Ross Jordan responded to a reported industrial accident at 25375 FM Hwy 770, south of Batson, at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 6.

Tragically, it was reported that a worker was struck by a falling piece of equipment while several employees were on site working on the oilfield equipment.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the worker succumbed to his injuries. Hardin County 4th District Justice of the Peace Mark Ames has ordered an autopsy, and investigators are carefully interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances of the accident.

The victim’s name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
