Man shot outside Port Orange home – WFTV

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Port Orange police are investigating a fatal shooting.

5:45am update:

Police said that when officers arrived, they found a man outside his home on Elda Lane who had been shot multiple times.

The suspected shooter was Santiago Hernandez-Castrodad, according to Port Orange police.

He died at the scene of the accident.

Investigators said they have made an arrest in the case.

Hernandez-Castrodad, 40, is charged with second-degree murder, police said.

Investigators said it happened early Wednesday morning in the Southern Pines neighborhood.

Officers responded to a disturbance call in the area of ​​Elda Lane and Spruce Creek Road.

Once on scene, they discovered that two people were involved in the incident.

One of those people was fatally shot, investigators said.

Port Orange police said everyone involved in the incident has been held accountable and there is no danger to residents.

POPD added that the officers were not involved in the shooting.

As of 4:30 a.m., investigators remained on scene conducting the investigation.
