JEE candidate: Two charged with rape and murder of minor JEE candidate | News from Jaipur

Jaipur: Charges have been filed against two persons at Dausa Sadar police station for allegedly raping and killing a minor girl who had applied for JEE. According to police, the body of the 17-year-old victim was found mutilated on a railway track on June 1. Police cremated the body on May 5 as no one came forward to claim it. However, on May 6, relatives and family members arrived at the police station looking for their daughter. After identifying the body, charges have been filed against two youths suspected of raping and killing her. Sadar police station in-charge Sohanlal said the girl’s mutilated body was found near pillar number 182 on the Jaipur-Delhi railway track. The body had been dragged for a long distance by the train with her hands and legs severed. At that time, police suspected that death had occurred when she was hit by the train. They took the mutilated body into custody, shifted it to the district hospital mortuary and tried to identify her. The photograph and information about the victim were sent to nearby police stations for identification but no response was received. When the body could not be identified after four days, it was cremated on Wednesday. “After identifying the deceased, the family has now filed a complaint. After filing an FIR, the investigation has been handed over to women police station ASP Tripti Vijayvargiya,” Sohanlal explained. In the report, the victim’s family mentioned that she was living in a rented room in Dausa and was preparing for JEE. Her exam was scheduled for June 2 and on the evening of May 31, the family tried to reach her but was unable to. They then called the landlord who informed them that the girl had left on May 31 and said she had gone to her aunt’s house from where she had not returned. After that, the family members searched for her at her aunt’s house but found no information about her. When the family could not locate her whereabouts, a missing person report was registered. They then came to know that the body of a girl had been found on the tracks on June 1. When the police showed the clothes and photograph of the body to the family, they identified her as their daughter. After that, the family suspected two youths and reported a case of gang rape and murder.
