Texan Andrew Brown was sentenced to life imprisonment for sexual abuse

The man was also caught calling his family from prison and asking them to destroy a device that contained images of child abuse.

HAYS COUNTY, Texas – A Dripping Springs man will spend the rest of his life in prison for sexual abuse.

Andrew Brown, 38, was found guilty in January of abusing an 8-year-old after evidence showed Brown had abused the child for over a year.

Brown, a former real estate agent and cheerleader, possessed thousands of pornographic images depicting sexual abuse of young children. The images were found after Brown called a family member from prison and asked them to destroy a storage device containing the images.

According to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office, Brown abused the 8-year-old, the child of a family friend, for over a year. Brown offered to babysit the child while his wife and friends were out of town, which is when the abuse occurred.

We would like to thank the victim and his family for the courage and strength it took to appear in court and face the defendant,” said Shelby Griffin, Assistant District Attorney. “The verdict in this case shows that child sexual abuse will not be tolerated in Hays County.”
