Massive fire in historic Ponce building

ATLANTA — Atlanta Fire and Rescue firefighters are battling a massive blaze Thursday evening at a historic building on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Smoke was seen coming from the ground following a fire that appeared to come from a building across the street from the historic Krispy Kreme which burned to the ground in 2021.

11Alive is on scene where firefighters were seen putting water on the former Atlanta Eagle and Original Kodak Moments building in the 300 block of Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.

Several lanes are blocked as crews work to put out the fire.

11Alive is awaiting a response from Atlanta Fire and Rescue. It is not clear how the fire started.
