Dripping Springs man receives life sentence for repeated sexual abuse of a child

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man was sentenced to life in prison May 30 after being found guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, according to Hays County District Attorney Kelly Higgins.

According to prosecutors, 38-year-old Andrew Brown of Dripping Springs sexually abused an 8-year-old child of a family friend for over a year.

Prosecutors said the abuse occurred after Brown volunteered to watch the child while his wife and friends were out.

“Evidence from the penalty phase showed that the defendant also possessed thousands of pornographic images depicting the sexual abuse of young children,” prosecutors said. “The child pornography was discovered after he called a family member from prison and asked them to destroy the storage device containing the images.”
