Maine State Police Bomb Disposal Squad called after possible live grenade found in West Paris

WEST PARIS (WGME) — The Maine State Police Bomb Disposal Squad was called to a home on High Street in West Paris Wednesday to defuse an unexploded grenade.

Based on X-ray images, police determined that the MK2 pineapple grenade may still contain high-energy material.

The bomb disposal service took the grenade with them to dispose of it later.

The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said the caller told them the grenade could have come from a relative who served in World War II or Korea.
