Police are reportedly making arrests after shots were fired on Crane Street

SCHENECTADY, ​​NY (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police have made an arrest in the shooting incident on Crane Street that occurred Tuesday around 1 p.m. Schenectady police have not released the suspect’s name at this time.

On Tuesday around 1 p.m., Schenectady police responded to Crane Street for reports of an altercation and shots fired. Police spoke to people in the area and set up a perimeter.


Police also reached out to local schools in the city of Schenectady for a precautionary lockdown, although no school was threatened. Schenectady police, along with the department’s SWAT team, New York State Police, Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office, county Street Crimes Task Force and Niskayuna police, continued their search for a suspect into the night.

At around 9:41 p.m., officers found a suspect, arrested him and brought him in for questioning. The incident remains under investigation. Stay with NEWS10 as more information becomes available.
