Atlantic City, NJ: Man knowingly left the scene of an accident resulting in death

The Atlantic County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that an Atlantic City, New Jersey man has been charged with willfully leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

On June 4, 2024, Everette Williams, 51, was charged with:

• Second degree hit and run following a traffic accident resulting in death.

This incident resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy from Galloway Township, New Jersey.

The Atlantic County District Attorney’s Office has released the following information:

On February 17, 2024 at 9:23 p.m., 17-year-old JJ was killed on the White Horse Pike in Absecon, NJ when he was struck by a Jeep Compass that Williams was driving. A subsequent investigation revealed that Williams was driving the vehicle with a revoked license and then abandoned the vehicle after removing the vehicle identification numbers (VIN) from the Jeep.

The case was investigated by the Atlantic County District Attorney’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Division in direct cooperation with the Absecon City Police Department.
