Medininagar (Jharkhand):

The body of a teenager who was allegedly raped and murdered after being abducted to Bihar has been exhumed from her village in Jharkhand, a police officer said on Thursday.

Unidentified persons buried her body in her village under Ramgarh police station in Palamu district.

The girl belonged to the Korwa community, a primitive tribe.

Following a complaint of murder of the 13-year-old girl, police exhumed the body on Wednesday in the presence of a magistrate and sent it for post-mortem, said Manibhushan Prasad, Medininagar sub-divisional police officer.

In the complaint filed on Tuesday, her mother alleged that her daughter was raped and murdered after being abducted to Sasaram district in Bihar, about 200 kilometers from her village.

The girl had lost her father some time ago and her mother had moved to a neighboring village and married another man. The teenager stayed with a relative in the village.

Taking advantage of her situation, a person from the same village smuggled her to Sasaram eight months ago with the promise of getting her a job in a brick kiln, Prasad said.

Her mother accused the owner of the brick factory of being involved in the crime.

As part of the investigation into the case, a police team was sent to Sasaram.
