The Atlanta Falcons have a top ten offensive core in the NFL

The way the Atlanta Falcons have built their offense around the quarterback may finally be paying off as Marcus Mosher of the 33rd team ranked the top eight offensive cores in the NFL. Atlanta narrowly missed the top five by placing sixth with quarterback Kirk Cousins and the trio of first-round picks, Kyle Pitts, Drake London and Bijan Robinson highlighted.

This one is a bit of a projection, considering Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, but the talent on the team is impossible to deny.

Bijan Robinson was the No. 6 overall pick a year ago and was spectacular in his rookie season. He recorded 1,463 yards from scrimmage on just 272 touches and is expected to have an even bigger workload this season.

Drake London has been productive despite terrible quarterback play, and Kyle Pitts is the first tight end since Mike Ditka to record 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie season.

Pitts, London and Robinson are all 23 or younger heading into the 2024 season, which certainly factored into their placement on this list. As long as Cousins can stay healthy, the Falcons can be one of the three or four best offenses in the league this season.

The projection needed for that kind of distinction is certainly high as we sit here in June, but there’s no denying Atlanta’s offensive talent. Given their decision to stay on the defensive side of things, they expect the Falcons to not only be a top ten offense, but to compete to be a top five offense, as indicated these projections.
