NNPP suspends gubernatorial candidate Azemhe Azena

The Edo State branch of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Thursday announced the suspension of its gubernatorial candidate for the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election in the state, Azemhe Azena.

Azena was suspended by the executive committee members of his Ward 10 in Etsako East Local Government Area of ​​the state.

This happened at the very moment when the candidate described the development as wrong and ineffective.

Azena’s suspension letter dated June 3, 2024 was signed by the District 10 Chairman, Mr. Kadiri Eshimokha, District Female Leader, Stella Afebua, Youth Leader, Comrade Eshiobu Johnson and District Secretary, Comrade Imonikho Abdul.

According to the letter, Azena was suspended for alleged gross misconduct, anti-party activities and disrespect to the party.

Copies of the suspension letter were also sent to the National Chairman of the party, the Edo State Chairman, the Vice Chairman Edo North Senatorial District, the Vice Chairman South-South, the National Chairman INEC and the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Edo State.

The suspension notice was received by the party’s state chairman on June 5, 2024.

In her response, Azena described the suspension as fake and ineffective.

He stated that the people whose names appeared on the alleged suspension letter were not from his district.

“The real chairman of NNPP Ward 10, Etsako East Local Government Chapter is Goddy Iyamah. He has since refuted the allegation.

“The letter allegedly seeking my suspension is fake and ineffective,” Azena stressed.
