Springville man convicted of killing Lancaster man in driving aggression incident

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — A Springville man was sentenced Wednesday morning following a 2023 road rage incident that left one man dead, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

On November 29 at approximately 3:20 p.m., 39-year-old Mario Garcia was involved in a DUI incident while driving a pickup truck on Route 240 in East Concord.


The victim, 64-year-old Andrew Mikula of Lancaster, was driving his own pickup truck when he pulled over to the side of the road south of Davis Hill. Garcia pulled up behind him.

The defendant hit Mikula with his truck as he approached his vehicle. Garcia drove home and called 911. The victim died at the scene.

Garcia pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in April.

Garcia pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter last April. On Wednesday morning, he was sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of five to 15 years.
