OAKWOOD – Oakwood High School Principal Paul Waller has resigned amid a months-long investigation, according to a school district spokesman.

Waller was placed on February 2 pending an investigation into a theft in the girls’ locker room.

In January 2024, according to a previous report from News Center 7, a male high school student was found in the girls’ locker room.

He searched the students’ backpacks and took women’s clothing.

In an email obtained by News Center 7 through a public records request on Feb. 2, an Oakwood player told Waller she was “truly disgusted” by the situation.

“At first I was very angry and hoped that it was true, that the school would take care of it… But it didn’t,” she wrote. “Instead we even had to beg for a suspension after a child in our school ransacked our locker room and repeatedly stole things for who knows how long.”

Waller became principal of Oakwood High School in 2009. The spokesman said he submitted his resignation on June 5.

Oakwood management will begin searching for a new principal immediately, the spokesman said.

News Center 7 last asked for an update on the investigation in March.
