The Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Workshop will be held May 9 in Williston

WILLISTON, N.D. (KXNET) – The Williams County Sheriff’s Office and North Star Human Service Zone are hosting a child sexual abuse awareness and prevention workshop.

The program content was developed and written by child molesters in treatment at the Center for Behavioral Intervention in Beaverton, Oregon.

The workshop is designed to teach parents and community members how to prevent, recognize and report cases of child sexual abuse.

The questions the workshop aims to answer include:

  • How many children are sexually abused before their 18th birthday?
  • What does the care look like?
  • How many criminals are there?
  • What should you tell your children?

The workshop will be led by Lt. Detective Caleb Fry of the Williams County Sheriff’s Office and Holly Votava, CPS Director of the North Star Human Service Zone moderated.

The workshop is scheduled to take place twice on Thursday, May 9, in the Williston County Commission Room. The first workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the second from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m
