Atlanta water crisis | Latest updates Thursday

11Alive continues to track water main breaks and shutdowns across the city of Atlanta.

ATLANTA — It’s been a week since Atlanta’s water crisis began. Even though the boil water advisory has been lifted, many residents and businesses are still dealing with the consequences of broken water mains.

On Thursday morning, the city said tests confirmed the water was now safe to drink, but the news sparked mixed feelings.

11Alive’s Bobeth Yates spoke with Steamhouse Lounge owner Sam Weyman, who said his business has been closed since the massive water main break last Friday.

“We’ve been struggling and we’re still trying to open up, and we will be today. I have a full crew, about 30 people coming in, and I just found out that 11th Street is still closed and West Peachtree is still closed,” Weyman said.
