Ashanti Alerts are named after Ashanti Billie, who was kidnapped in Virginia and found dead days later in North Carolina.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) – The NC Center for Missing Persons issued an Ashanti Alert for an 18-year-old from Fayetteville.

Investigators are asking the public to be on the lookout for Tierstan Cochran. They fear she may be in danger as there is evidence that she was abducted against her will.

The NC Center for Missing Persons said three male suspects are believed to be with Cochran. None of them have been named and there are no descriptive features that could help identify the three men.

Investigators said Cochran and the three men were last seen heading north in a gray SUV, possibly heading to Tennessee.

Anyone with information about Tierstan Cochran should call 911 or the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1802.

What is an Ashanti Alert?

An Ashanti Alert is issued when a person between the ages of 19 and 64 is reported missing and the circumstances of their disappearance may be due to abduction or disappearance. In many cases, law enforcement authorities fear that the person may be in danger.
