Woman from Pilot Mountain dies in accident on Pipers Gap Road in Virginia

CARROL COUNTY, Va. (WGHP) – Virginia State Police are investigating after a Pilot Mountain woman was killed in a car crash Tuesday morning.

Investigators say Martha D. Crocket, 40, of Pilot Mountain, was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra west on Virginia State Route 97/Pipers Gap Road near Crooked Creek Road when she crossed the center line, veered left off the road and struck a tree.


According to police, Crocket died at the scene of the accident. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
