Family of man killed in hit-and-run on Mass Ave. sues driver and bar

INDIANAPOLIS – The family of the 27-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run crash on Massachusetts Avenue in March has filed a lawsuit against the driver and the owners of the bar where he frequented.

The family of 27-year-old Brandon Breedlove, represented by attorneys at Craig Kelly & Faultless LLC, filed suit on June 5 against 27-year-old Salvador Banales and Risky Business Inc. (doing business as Dorman Street Saloon).

The lawsuit alleges that employees at the Dorman Street Saloon overserved Banales and failed to arrange transportation for Banales.

Breedlove’s mother has suffered harm and loss as a result of her son’s death, the lawsuit says, and is demanding that Banales and the company cover the costs of Breedlove’s health care prior to his death, as well as funeral and burial expenses.

According to court documents, Banales struck Breedlove and two other people around 2 a.m. Saturday near Massachusetts Avenue and College Avenue.

Breedlove was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.
