People in graduation gowns flee shooting in Delco, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police said people in graduation gowns fled from a car that crashed after being shot at in an incident in Linwood on Wednesday afternoon.

Lower Chichester police officials said the incident occurred Wednesday in the 1500 block of Summit Avenue in Linwood.

Police officials did not give an exact time when the shooting might have occurred, but radio messages referring to the incident were received around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

In that incident, officials said, a person on the street fired shots at a vehicle near a Family Dollar store on that block.

Police officials said they were still trying to determine if anyone in the vehicle fired back.

Police believe the vehicle continued driving and was involved in an accident in which the occupants jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.

Witnesses at the scene said some members of the group who fled the car were wearing blue graduation robes.

Other people involved in the accident were treated at the scene for minor injuries, officials said.

As of about 9:30 a.m., police had not reported any injuries in this incident.

However, the shooting remains under investigation.

The Lower Chichester Township Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information, video footage or images of the shooting to contact them at 610-485-2760.
