Kangana: Alleged slapping case: CISF suspends policewoman | News from India

NEW DELHI: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has suspended the policewoman who allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. The actress-politician was on her way to Delhi when it happened.

The policewoman said in a video shot soon after, “They (Kangana) spent Rs 100-100 during the farmers’ protests. What happened? I left them all out. ‘Diya, boy.'” (Ranaut had said during the farmers’ protests that people were sitting there for Rs 100. My mother was also at the protests when she said this.)

In a statement after the alleged slapping incident, Ranaut said, “I am receiving several calls from the media and well-wishers. Firstly, I am safe and fine. The incident took place at Chandigarh airport near the security checkpoint. As I was passing through the security checkpoint, the CISF personnel slapped me on my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did this, she said she supported the farmers’ protests. I am safe but I am worried about the rising terrorism and extremism in Punjab. How do we deal with this?”

Ranaut travelled to Delhi on a Vistara flight and reached her destination safely.
