One person was shot in Durham, a portion of Alabama Avenue that was closed for a police investigation

Part of a road is closed in Durham as police investigate a shooting.

The shooting occurred near Alabama Avenue and Knox Street. Investigators have been on site since around midnight.

The 911 dispatch center in Durham said it received the call around 11:56 p.m. Durham police, fire and EMS responded to a report of a person who had been shot.

WRAL News is working to determine the extent of the victim’s injuries and whether police have a suspect in custody.
