Atlanta lifts its final boil water advisory after nearly a week of ongoing problems

(CNN) — Atlanta authorities on Thursday morning lifted the latest boil water advisory in place after a series of water main breaks left parts of the major U.S. city without drinking water for nearly a week, highlighting the fragility of the country’s aging infrastructure.

“We are pleased to announce that the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has lifted the boil water advisory for the entire City of Atlanta! Thank you again for your incredible patience and support during this difficult time,” the city said on X.
