Late night shooting in southwest Miami-Dade sparks police investigation – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) – Shots were fired overnight in southwest Miami-Dade, sparking a police investigation that continued into Thursday morning.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Miami-Dade Police officers and Miami-Dade Fire rescue units responded to the area of ​​Quail Roost Drive and Southwest 113th Avenue following a reported shooting.

Although it is still unclear what exactly led to this incident, the scene clearly showed an accident. A silver Mercedes with deployed airbags was found riddled with bullet holes when police surrounded the scene.

Live video footage showed the vehicle, in which two people appeared to be at the time of the shooting.

Investigators also surrounded a fallen light pole at the scene, although it is unclear if it was part of the accident. One person who arrived at the scene appeared distraught after learning what had happened to their loved one.

As police continue their investigation, few details are known.
