The cause of a house fire that sent a woman to the hospital Wednesday afternoon is under investigation. At around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters were called to a home in the Greenfield Plaza neighborhood on Des Moines’ south side. Crews from West Des Moines, Carlisle, Norwalk and Des Moines responded. The Norwalk Fire Department confirmed to KCCI that one person was taken to a local hospital with injuries. WARREN COUNTY, Iowa —

The cause of a house fire that required a woman to be hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon is currently under investigation.

On Wednesday around 3:15 p.m., firefighters were called to a home in the Greenfield Plaza neighborhood in south Des Moines. Crews from West Des Moines, Carlisle, Norwalk and Des Moines responded.

The Norwalk Fire Department confirmed to KCCI that one person was taken to a local hospital with injuries. The woman’s condition is unknown.
