Two teenagers killed in car crash near Dockweiler State Beach

Witnesses reported that one of the drivers may have lost consciousness

Two teenagers were killed and three others injured in a two-car crash in the Playa del Rey area on Tuesday evening, ABC7 reports.

The collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Vista Del Mar, not far from Dockweiler State Beach. Of the four teenagers in one of the vehicles involved, one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other later succumbed to his injuries. At the time of this writing, the ages of the dead have not been released.

The other teenagers in the car were taken to hospital with injuries. Another person involved in the accident, a woman in her 30s who was in the other car, was also taken to hospital.

According to ABC7, witnesses reported that one of the drivers may have lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic.

Authorities said there was no evidence that either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
