Three people died on Wednesday evening in Springfield, Virginia, when they were hit by a train.

Three people died on Wednesday evening in Springfield, Virginia, when they were hit by a train.

Fairfax County Police confirmed in a post on X that an adult and two children were struck and killed by a train while walking on the tracks on Accotink Park Road around 8:20 p.m. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The police could not provide any further information about the incident.
