Body found in sea near Moran Beach, cause under investigation – KION546

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) – The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said it found a body in the ocean off Moran Beach Wednesday afternoon.

According to a sheriff’s office spokesman, officers along with harbor police and state parks responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the water at Moran Beach around 4:30 p.m.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and began life-saving measures, but officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office Coroner will investigate the cause and manner of death and work to notify next of kin.
