The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit said it has made an arrest in connection with the death of a 74-year-old man. Investigators said Douglas LaFrance was found dead on his porch on May 26, 2024. His death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner. On Wednesday, June 5, an arrest warrant was issued for his son, Vincent LaFrance, in connection with his father’s death. Vincent was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on a charge of first-degree murder. The sheriff’s office said additional charges are possible.

PEARL RIVER, Louisiana —

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit said it has made an arrest in connection with the death of a 74-year-old man.

According to investigators, Douglas LaFrance was found dead on his porch on May 26, 2024. The coroner ruled his death a homicide. On Wednesday, June 5, an arrest warrant was issued for his son, Vincent LaFrance, in connection with his father’s death.

Vincent was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on a charge of first-degree murder. The sheriff’s office said additional charges are possible.
