Motorcyclist killed in accident on Jacksboro Highway

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car on Jacksboro Highway in Wichita Falls on Wednesday afternoon.

Wichita Falls Police spokesman Sergeant Charlie Eipper said the collision occurred shortly after 3 p.m. He said a 22-year-old woman’s car was entering the highway from a United Express supermarket at 4500 Jacksboro Highway and her view may have been obscured by another vehicle.

He said she collided with the southbound motorcycle. Bystanders tried to help the male driver of the motorcycle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was not injured.

Eipper said the cyclist was not wearing a helmet. His name was not immediately released.

Police closed the busy intersection to investigate. Eipper said that part of the road will likely remain closed for several hours.
