Man arrested for weapons and drug offenses, police say

PEORIA (25News Now) – Peoria police said a man was arrested on preliminary weapons and drug charges.

Willie E. Dillard, 54, was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, officers were called before 4 p.m. to execute a search warrant on a home in the 1400 block of South Easton for the illegal distribution of a controlled substance.

According to police, drug paraphernalia and a pistol were found inside.

Dillard was identified as a suspect and taken into custody during a traffic stop prior to the arrest warrant being issued.

He was taken to prison.
